The class 2A is the most used of the Tamper proof forged hook bolts. The material can range from austenitic, martensitic to duplex steel grades. The 304 and 316 austenitic stainless steel grades are the most used. The sizes vary and the extra large forged hook bolts are used in larger load bearing applications such as construction sites and in storage facilities. Depending of the application requirement, the strength of the bolts varies as well. The heavy forged hook bolts are used in heavy load bearing applications. The material is cold forged to produce the bolts.
The manufacturing process includes wire drawing, cold heading, insert tapping and heat treatment techniques.
