Stainless Steel Captive Nuts or cage nuts are used in narrow space and sensitive applications. These nuts come with a square cage that captures the nuts and the nuts have threads in the middle with serrated edges at the exterior of the floating cage nuts. These are called the floating nuts because of the flexible cage they are fitted onto.

The nuts come under different standards to cover the different mechanical and physical properties for different application set ups. The Imperial captive nuts range in size from ¼ inches to 4 inches. These are different measurement types but the nuts have the same mechanical properties. There are different types of materials used to make these m4 captive nuts. The basic 304 grade is the most used for making these nuts but there are 316 grade and higher alloy made nuts as well.
