The material has carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, and 18% chromium with 8% nickel. The sa 194 gr b8 is made from 304 grade austenitic stainless steel. The chromium and nickel content of the material accounts for the high tensile strength and corrosion resistance. The minimum tensile strength of the SA 194 Gr 8MLCuN Nut and other fasteners is 550MPa and the minimum yield strength is 240MPa with 30% elongation rate and 223 BHN hardness value.
There are different types such as the ASTM A194 Gr. 8T Nut is used in petroleum, power generation, water supply and other domestic, commercial and industrial applications. The fasteners are strong and corrosion resistant even at elevated temperatures. The SA 194 Gr 8 Specification allows the fasteners to operate up to 450 degrees Celsius temperature.
