316l stainless steel pipe flange is made up of a low carbon variation of the 316 austenitic stainless steel grade. The material is corrosion resistant to sea water and is resistant to localized corrosion. Viha Steel & Forging manufactures the SS DIN 1.4404 blind flanges and others for different application purposes. The blind flanges can come in different types depending on the need of the closure of the pipe.

The pipes sometimes have to be closed forever. Sometimes the Stainless Steel 316L Flanges is fitted using bolts and nuts to open them later on. The SS UNS S31603 slip on flanges are used with seamless pipes. These flanges can improve the connection efficiency of the pipes and flanges.  The flange material has chromium, nickel, molybdenum, carbon, manganese, sulfur, phosphorus and silicon in the composition. This allows the flange astm a182 f316l to have good corrosion resistance against most general purpose applications and against salt water.

The flanges also get the strength from this composition. The flanges have 205MPa minimum yield strength and 515MPa minimum tensile strength.  There are different shapes such as the asme sa182m grade f316l wnrf flange which has a welded neck on it.
